We're continuing to build our 5G team and are looking for an experienced software developer with a passion for design, implementation and test of software for 5G communication systems.

Since 2001, Gatehouse Satcom has been a key player in the satellite communication industry, collaborating with some of the world’s largest satellite and space companies.

We’re at the forefront of the 5G satellite revolution, serving a global network of operators. Our technology enables broadband connectivity on mobile devices - linking devices via satellites in orbit. From concept to commercial operation, we support our customers with feasibility studies, lab kits, and other tools that enable them to validate and verify solutions before deployment.

Expanding into the new 5G NTN domain, we're developing NB-IoT and 5G New Radio protocol stacks and physical layer software, targeting LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite systems. Our active involvement in 5G 3GPP standardization ensures our products meet the latest standards, focusing on innovative solutions for terminals, network nodes, and backend systems. Our clientele spans leading manufacturers and operators in aviation, defence, and space sectors.

About the job
You'll be an integral part of our 5G NTN development team, a blend of seasoned and fresh talents dedicated to advancing 5G NB-IoT/New Radio technologies. Your role will centre on designing, implementing, and testing C/C++ software. Utilizing tools like Git and JIRA, you'll contribute to well-structured and efficiently planned projects.

For the right candidate, the role can expand into team lead responsibilities where you will play a key part in planning the day-to-day activities of a self-driven team of 5-10 skilled SW engineers.

Given our niche's international scope, occasional travel to meet customers and partners may occur.

About you
With an engineering background in software, electronics or embedded systems, your expertise includes:

• DSP, GPU, ML and Protocol stack development (OSI Layers 1-4) for wireless/communications systems.
• 5G NB-IoT and New Radio experience and knowledge is an advantage, but strong SW design and development skills, a good system understanding and ability to learn fast is more important.
• Programming in C, C++ and Python
• Object-oriented software development expertise is required.
• Design, Development, testing, and debugging of real-time and embedded software.
• Optimizing for highly efficient code execution on embedded platforms
• Experience with development/deployment in Linux as well as Hardware acceleration is an advantage

Your self-driven nature, teamwork skills, and pioneering spirit are essential for developing new technologies from scratch. Experience in international collaborations and fluency in English will be advantageous.
